Afuri Junmai Kimoto [Cannot be bundled]
This sake was originally created to be served with ramen at AFURI's first US store in Portland. In America, the sauces used in all dishes, including sushi, tend to be on the stronger side, so this sake was developed to stand up to those dishes and enhance their flavors.
Of course, it also goes perfectly with ramen soup with its complex flavor.
The sake is brewed by Kurosawa Sake Brewery, a long-established sake brewery in Nagano Prefecture with over 160 years of history.
[Taste]
It is a medium-bodied sake with a rich and savory flavor. It does not overwhelm the delicious flavors and aromas of AFURI's ramen, which is made up of layers of chicken, fish, and vegetables, but rather brings them out to the fullest, with a pleasant acidity and a rich, lingering aftertaste. It also goes well with meat dishes, making it the perfect sake to drink not only with ramen, but also with roast pork as a snack.
[Manufacturing and Raw Materials]
It is made using a traditional sake brewing method called "kimoto brewing," which is a very time-consuming and labor-intensive technique. The ingredients are rice (produced in Nagano Prefecture), rice malt, and water, making it a "junmai sake," but this "kimoto brewing" method gives it a deeper, full-bodied flavor and a more satisfying taste.
It is a product of skillfully controlling the rice, microorganisms, and storage methods. The water used is pure, pumped well water.

Don't worry. AFURI's meal kits are easy to prepare; all you have to do is heat up the delicious soup and ingredients and combine them with boiled noodles. If you add your own ingredients that aren't included in the kit (such as raw vegetables or boiled eggs), you can create a bowl of ramen that is just as good as the one you get at the restaurant! If you even match the ramen bowl to the restaurant's version, it will be an AFURI experience. Try it with confidence.
